The importance of our institution grows with every report of international problems: wars, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc. Our world is becoming an increasingly complicated place to live.

 

The writers of the Greek New Testament used two words to designate time. One, chronos (χρονος),was used to tell about minutes, hours, and days—in other words, the ordinary measurement of time. The other, kairos (καιρός), was used only in special situations, like when Christ came “in the fullness of time.”

 

Kairos is a special time in history, and today we are living in a kairos time.

 

Therefore, Olivet University takes on special importance. We are dedicated to the task given to the apostles by Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations. Jesus even said that before he returns the Gospel would be preached into the whole world. And this is what Olivet is all about.

 

I invite you to look deeper into what we are doing here at Olivet. God might be calling you to join together with the many others who are becoming part of the rapidly growing Olivet family. Here you can learn both academically and practically, do missions work, and be involved in the task of making disciples of all people in the world.
